Privacy Policy
Thank you for taking the time to review the privacy policy of the Master Gardener’s Foundation of King County. We respect your online privacy and are committed to protecting it. The MGFKC Board has established this privacy policy so users understand how MGF collects personal information and uses it.

Why MGF May Collect Personal Information.
MGF uses personal information to better understand the needs and interests of our community. This information is used to customize the website and target what resources are most useful to you.

What MGF Collects / How It is Used.
Visitor (non-member) information is collected and stored automatically. As is typical, we log HTTP requests to our server. This means that we know the IP address from which you access our website, your browser and platform type, and referral data such as the website from which you linked to MGF’s website. We occasionally analyze the log files to determine which files are most requested and, if you linked to an MGF web page from another site, the site that prompted the request. You do not have to register with MGF before we can collect this information.

The information we collect is anonymous and non-personal—we make no effort to identify public users of our site. Data that we collect are used only for server administration and web protocol research. This statement applies to non-member interactions with MGF’s web servers. It does not apply to email sent to MGF staff or lists. Email interactions are guided by general net-etiquette conventions.

Logged, anonymous information is kept indefinitely as administrative and research material. We use this information to help make our site more useful to visitors. Non-identifying statistics generated from this information may be reported as part of research results.

Personal (Member) or Prize Registration Information.
We use member-related personal information and prize registration for the purposes of administering the MGF website, communicating, and collaborating with our members and interested community. Members’ interactions with the site are authenticated by password; consequently, we have the capability to identify you and your activities and to store personal information that you provide us.

MGF collects personal information in the following ways from different parts of its website.

If you contact MGF via email, we may keep a record of that correspondence. Correspondence is considered personal information and is treated as such with respect to privacy. MGF from time to time may contact you via e-mail about changes or enhancements to the website.

Any information you provide is stored in our database and associated with your personal profile. MGF uses this information to track general information and trends,

By requesting a password, you are added to our Registration database where your personal profile is maintained. This profile consists of the information that you supply plus administrative data and other activities/groups in which you may participate. Your password is sent to you by email. If you request a new password, it will be computer generated and sent to your email address automatically. MFG website administrators do have access to your password so that they may assist you if you need it.

Sharing Information
We respect your privacy. Please be assured that your information will never be sold to an external marketing company. Any personally identifiable information you share with MGF is maintained and accessible only by MGF staff, unless otherwise noted here. The data that MGF collects and maintains are not disclosed for any reason to any third party, except as required by law enforcement agencies with proper jurisdiction and documentation.

Access and Accuracy
To access and edit your personal information, login and go to My Account. Then select Edit My Profile.

MGF has security measures in place to attempt to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of your personal information under our control. While we cannot guarantee that loss, misuse or alteration to personal data will not occur, we take many precautions to prevent such unfortunate occurrences.

MGF uses physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect any personally identifiable data stored on our computers and premises. Only authorized employees have access to the information you provide us. All member areas are password protected.

Copyright and Permissions
Images and articles with copyright must follow user requirements for reprint, copy, or duplication. Many images have differing use policies for education or nonprofit groups. When in doubt on limitations, please contact MGFKC webmaster prior to use of an image or article.

MGF makes every attempt to ensure the accuracy of the information provided on the website. MGF is not responsible for damages of any all kinds regarding use of the site, errors on the site, viruses on the site, failure of the site or third-party links to operate, and any purchases or services.
